If you’re into slasher and horror movies as a whole, chances are you’re a fan of the Halloween movie series. The franchise started all the way back in 1978 with the legendary John Carpenter directing the film. The series has continued since then with ten more films during the years and the next one, Halloween Kills, is also on the horizon.

It’s a direct sequel to 2018’s Halloween which was also a sequel to the original 1978 one. Interestingly enough, although the film is not released yet, a sequel to it is confirmed to be released in 2022 called Halloween Ends.

Halloween Kills (2021) Movie Story Explained

Michael Myers is the antagonist of almost all of the films in the Halloween franchise. He is a psychopath and murderer who enjoys killing people with gruesome methods. He killed his own sister when he was only 6 years old, and because of that, he was taken to a sanitarium. But fifteen years later, he escaped and continued his murders in each film.

During the course of the film, Laurie Strode and her family has to fight for their survival and try to escape Myers once again.

Jamie Lee Curtis who started her acting career with the original 1978 Halloween, is once again back to play the role of Laurie Strode, the sole survivor of that film. Additionally, James Jude Courtney who played Michael Myers in the 2018 version, as well as Nick Castle who was Michael Myers in the original 1978 version, are back to play the cold-blooded psycho one more time.

Just like 2018’s Halloween, the sequel is also directed by David Gordon Green. Additionally, the writers include Green himself, as well as Danny McBride, and Scott Teems. Malek Akkad, Bill Block, and Jason Blum are also the producers.

Halloween Kills (2021) Movie Release Date – When will the Horror Begin?

As you might’ve guessed, the film will be released during the 2021 Halloween period. The exact release date is October 15, 2021. It was originally scheduled to release a year earlier in October 2020 but due to the restrictions caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic, it was delayed by a year.

To make the wait easier for the fans of the slasher franchise, Universal Pictures, the publisher of the film, has released a short teaser trailer which we’re sure will give you goosebumps. It shows a distressed Laurie on the back of a car running from Michael Myers being burnt alive in a house on fire, but hearing the sirens of firefighters she yells “let him burn”. Where to Rent Halloween Kills (2021) Movie?

The 2018 version is available to rent with a low price on Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Google Play Movies, iTunes, and most of the other renting services. You can check one of them and search for the title and rent the film. As with the 2021 version, considering that it’s not out yet, you’ll have to wait almost a year more until the movie releases.
